Loneliness and isolation can be a daily debilitating feeling which is worse for your health than smoking 15 cigarettes a day. This does not just occur at Christmas or on your birthday, it is there every day of the year. That is why Impetus are launching the Yellow Rose Campaign to connect the community and reduce isolation across Brighton and Hove.

41% of over 65s are living in single person households in the city, which is 10% higher than rest of UK. In light of this it was suggested that Brighton and Hove needed an event to raise awareness of the feeling of loneliness and isolation across the city whilst also promoting a fundraising campaign to support befriending initiatives in the city.
