100 metre water slide

This weekend, local children’s charity Amaze brought a daring, giant, 100 metre water slide to Wild Park, Brighton for an exciting fundraising event. The slide ran from a steep top area and then levelled out along the smooth green length of the main park. But the day was almost ruined when the huge water lorry bringing many hundreds of gallons of water to run the slide, was stuck in motorway traffic. Hundreds of excited kids and adults thought their much anticipated day out had been ruined.

Firefighters to the rescue

But it was not to be! Enter the fire fighter guys and gals of Preston Circus fire station to the rescue. With speed and skill they located a water supply and their trusty fire engine pumped enough water to run the slide and save the day. The organisers breathed a sigh of relief and so it was time for the fun to start. The Mayor of Brighton and Hove, Councillor Mo Marsh cut the red ribbon, and the daredevil participants took to the water. The day was a great success and a terrific time was had by all.
