South end of Queens Road opposite where Boots is now, early 1980's probably.

That's certainly the location, but I'd say it's earlier than 1980 - probably mid '70s.

My 1974 Kelly's Directory shows British School of Motoring (on the left in the mystery photo) occupying No 4 Queen's Road, Brighton. Next door at No 5 was Period Decor (Sussex) Ltd.

I assume that Virgin took over at No 5 after that.

This would have been at least 1985, as you can see Phil Collins' No Jacket Required (1985) and Madonna's Like A Virgin (1984) in the window.

5 Queen's Road is right, and this is 1985 as I see a Tears For Fears album from 1985 in the window too. This one closed in mid/late 85, I think, when they moved onto Western Road (currently Argos).
