This is a class photograph taken in the school year 1953/4, with Mr Mason, headmaster and teacher Mrs Standing.
I am centre row, 3rd from right. Susan Moore is front row, fourth from left, and Hetty Heimann who I would love to contact, is in the centre row, seventh from left.

I went to St. Margaret’s School but it was in 1957 I believe. The family had moved from Shoreham to Brighton and I was 10 yrs old. I think I am correct in saying that the first day at this school happened to be the 11 plus exam! I remember Susan Moore and Hetty Heiman. I don’t see Jeannie Wallis Taylor, Yvonne Hodges or Kay Basham in the photo. Perhaps they enrolled later, as I did. I think I see Michael Lovegrove in the back row, 3rd from left. I remember him well.
