Local auditions in 1944

Auditions for this production took place in Brighton during October of 1944 where several young dancers from Vera Garbutt school of dancing Preston Park were selected to perform in this pantomime.

Opened in Brighton 1945

The show first opened at the Arts Theatre Cambridge in December 1944 before it came to the Theatre Royal Brighton where the show continued from 22nd of January to the 5th of Febuary 1945.

Wartime cheer

Clarkson Rose as the dame Widow Twankey  gave a brilliant performance .It was a show that brought cheer to a war time audience.
