Charles George Laker
By Bill Laker

My Grand-dad, Charles George Laker, was born in 1895 at Newhaven.

He was in the Navy during WWI and served at Scarpa Flo. After the war, in 1921, he joined the Royal Irish Constabulary.

In WWII he was in the North Brighton Home Guard unit. Before he joined the Home Guard, he was a member of the Brighton Fire Prevention Dept from 1942.

I am researching his history and would very much appreciate hearing from anyone who knew him.
