I am sure the Argus girl 2nd on the left was Mary Beadle, who used to live in Hervey Road, she was lovely.

Spot on, Harry! Recognised her straight away, just couldn't recall the name. Related to the Downards I think, who lived in Rugby Place, a stones throw from Hervey Road. Yes, she was (is) really lovely.

The lady first on the left is my sister-in-law. Her name then was Ann Richardson. She was an Argus girl for some years and also Miss Brighton & Hove Albion.

Sometime before 1971 when I got married, a young girl was killed in a car crash near the pylons. I know she was on a carnival float around that time, perhaps a little earlier. Her mum and dad were at my wedding. Her mum was a Hungarian lady. Sorry to be so vague but, it was a long time ago and I need my memory jogging. I went to her burial place where there was a photo of her. If anyone can fill in my lapses of memory I would like to put flowers on her resting place.
