Home Family and Community

This weekend St Nicholas Church in Saltdean is holding a Flower Festival. The festival theme, ‘Home, Family and Community’, according to vicar Father George, aims to recognise the work that goes on day after day in the interdependent environment of the home and community.

Special preview

On Thursday there was a preview for an invited group which included the Mayor of Brighton and Hove, Councillor Anne Meadows, and the Mayor and Mayoress of Telscombe, Councillor John Livings and Mrs Helen Livings. Visitors were treated to a selection of music played by Royal Pavilion harpist Andrew Ballantyne.

Weekend activities

On Saturday, as well as the wonderful flower displays, there will be Arts and Craft stalls, a Chinese painting demonstration, a local dance school display, the Salty Handbell Ringers will perform and finally the day will finish with an organ recital. On Sunday there will be usual services and ‘Songs of Praise’ at 4pm.
