A quirky collection
The first part of his quirky collection of cosmetic preparation pot lids was kindly photographed for us by Martin Phillips.
Special recipe cosmetics
These lids are from pots of cosmetic preparations made in Brighton and Hove in the 19th and early 20th century. Today we are used to toothpaste and face creams and the like being produced by large companies, but at one time these items were prepared to various special recipes by local chemists.
