Crimestoppers Jailbreak challenge

Teams from across Sussex

The challenge saw the teams pit their wits against one another as they raced around Sussex by train; tickets kindly donated by Southern Network Rail, on a treasure hunt to raise much needed funds for Crimestoppers and the Old Police Cells Museum. The teams then saw one of their members locked up in the Old Police Cells Museum, and remaining members of the team had then to solve a Brighton based quiz to secure their release.

Prize giving ceremony

A prize giving ceremony was held at The Honey Club and the Mayor of Brighton and Hove, Councillor Anne Meadows, together with best selling crime novelist, Peter James, Co-Patron of Sussex Crimestoppers and Friend of the Old Police Cells Museum presented the winners, Southern Water, with a specially mounted key and framed certificate. Brighton Racecourse team were presented with signed copies of books written by Peter James for the best dressed team taking part and Jo Ellis, from Eastbourne Homes was awarded a special mention for most spirited participant.

A successful team effort

Pat Drake, founder of the Old Police Cells Museum, said how much she appreciated the enormous effort that had gone into the day by members of Sussex Crimestoppers, museum guides and participants to make it such a successful, team bonding and fun day raising much needed funds for the two charities, Sussex Crimestoppers and the Old Police Cells Museum.
