  • Long after my days at the Downs, Graham – I left in 1960 – but you were presumably the younger brother of Margaret and Karen Marum was presumably the younger sister of David, both in my class in 59-60.

  • Hi Len, Yes I am the younger brother of Margaret Syrett, and the only thing about Karen Marum was that she changed her name to Collington half way through school – probably her mother remarried like mine did. By the way did you used to work at Whitehawk on the buses?  So did I!

  • Marraige breakups were almost unheard of back in the ’60s, that’s why I remember Graham and Karen so well from my class; so different from today. I loved Downs School and because of that can remember almost every name and face in the class -how I wish we could all go back, can’t believe I am in my 57th year. Always loved the Christmas week and play at school. Sighh…..
