We moved to Wilson Avenue, one of the self builds when I was about 14 years old. I spent a lot of my time fishing all around the Black Rock area, the local groynes and beaches. As you walked down past the main entrance to Black Rock Lido on to the Undercliff walk there used to be a sign board with pictures and explanations of the fossilized remains that had been found in the past.
