This view, taken by my uncle in 1929, shows Trigwells Central Dining Rooms in North Road.

It also shows a large chimney under construction or repair...what was this for?

The tall chimney in North Road was part of the electricity station built to supply power to Brighton Trams.

I seem to remember seeing this picture elsewhere, and reading that the scaffolding was actually to aid in the demolition of the chimney.
