Peter Pan's Playground
Peter Pan's Playground
Before and after World War II
By Jean Penney, pensioner
"This is Peter Pan's Playground. Before the war there was a pierrot show there and the rest of the site was a bowling green. After the war of course the bowling green had disappeared and it became the Peter Pan's playground.
It was run by the Maxwells, who had many playgrounds throught the country. John Maxwell was a great friend of J.M.Barrie and that's why Barrie allowed him to call his playground Peter Pan's Playground."
