London Road viaduct
Photographic miscellany
This drawing shows the repairs to the viaduct following bombing on the 25th May when two arches and a pier were destroyed. Allegedly the gap was bridged, with iron girders, within a day and the arches and pier rebuilt within a month. This enabled vital war supplies to be transported once more. The view is from the north looking south.Text by John Blackwell, 14-05-03
