My Nan Mrs Elphick used to live in the first cottage on the left up Church Hill. I remember the stairs to the upper floor were like a ladder. My Uncle Bert used to live with my Nan until sometime in the 50s when she fractured her hip and both my Nan and Uncle Bert came to live with us in Crabtree Avenue, Hollingbury.
