I lived on Picton Street not too far away from here. I went to The Winner a couple of times. It was a nice pub from what I remember. I have lived in Canada for 14 years. I love this site and all of the photos of places I used to go to.

The Winner became a pub in 1979/80. I lived behind it in May Road.

Mr and Mrs Bonniface bought the Downs Cafe from my parents Terry and Doris Allen in 1976. Did they ever mention the place was haunted? Does anybody know?
