I came across some photos I took of the aftermath of the 1987 hurricane and thought there may be some other people in the Portslade area who would like to see them. All of them are of the Easthill Park and Easthill Way area.

My parents lived in Easthill Way and when I phoned them up on the morning after to see if they were OK and to check if there was any damage to the house, my father was only concerned about the bird bath in the garden having been blown over and broken.

Outside the house there was a car parked, completely covered by a tree. After the tree was eventually removed, it was found that it didn't have a mark on it. How lucky was that.
