Sponsorship and funding
The My Brighton and Hove project was set up in 2000 as a Millennium project with funding of £2000 from Brighton and Hove Council. It was intended that the project should last 6 months and involve just 4 volunteers!
We do not receive any regular core funding. We cover our on-going costs through donations, sales of the My Brighton CD and through project funding. In 2003, My Brighton and Hove became part of QueenSpark community publishers, who collaborate on joint projects, and provide administrative support and a venue for our meetings.
Our budget is controlled by two volunteers 'administrators'. These are elected each year from among our volunteers and can make decisions on expenditure up to a certain level.
Project funding
We have received funding at various points over the six years to run particular projects, notably:
We are currently receiving funding through QueenSpark and the Heritage Lottery Fund to work on the Zap archive project.
