This picture is back to front. The lifeboat was at the Rottingdean end of the car, so when viewed from the landward side as this picture is, it should be on the left.  I am puzzled by what appears to be a horse on the car (at the left in this picture). Has anyone any theories?

That lifeboat is only big enough for a handful of passengers - presumably the ones who can't swim!
