This medal / award is dated August 18th 1906. The origin of the medal is unkown to me but appears to have a connection to both the Brighton and Hove Albion FC and the Brighton Swimmer's Club.

I can see the connection with Brighton & Hove Albion but not with the Brighton Swimmers Club. Is it the two dolphins that make you think of swimming? If so, it's worth remembering that BHA used to be known as The Dolphins long before they became The Seagulls.
