Photo:Interior of the Church of the Annunciation, c. 1970: The interior of the Church of the Annunciation with its vicar. This Anglican red-brick and flint Church was built for Revd Arthur Wagner to an Early English design by William Dancy and opened on 15 August 1864. In 1881 the aisles and the south chapel were added. The church was further extended in 1892 by F. T Cawthorn who also installed the east window with stained glass by Sir Edward Burne-Jones, which had previously been at St. Nicholas' Church since 1853.
