Mapping and identifying monuments
By Jennifer Drury

On Saturday March 8th, the St Nicholas Church Green Spaces Association Heritage Group will be working on site looking at identifying and mapping monuments. This will help to complete records, particularly in the Rest Garden, where site plans cannot be located and must be presumed lost.

They will be working from the archive records of inscriptions and other historical sources to try to find out where individual monuments are, and to try to identify those of specific interest, or those which may be 'at risk' and should be prioritised for repair or restoration.

No special skills or experience necessary - just an interest in and enthusiasm for the heritage and history of Brighton and its green spaces. Saturday March 8th - 2pm to 4pm St Nicholas Rest Garden - Dyke Road Brighton

This is an important project and if you are interested in being part of it - please contact Simon Bannister at simon.bannister@brighton-hove.gov.uk
