This year the city will be hosting ChoirFest Brighton 2008, a national event involving choirs from throughout Britain for the festivities over the weekend of July 11-13.  It is the first time the city has been invited to be the venue for this prestigious event.

ChoirFest Brighton 2008 will be hosted by the Hullabaloo Community Quire who are a rather unusual singing group.  They do not require prospective members to audition and there is no need to be able to read music.  There are no age restrictions to membership, in fact they have singers from 8 to 80 years.  Hullabaloo's repertoire ranges from doo-wop to hip hop, folk to funk, as well as innovative vocal music by contemporary composers. Our photos here show a recent performance called 'Disco Inferno'.

If you want any information regarding joining the group, or details of ChoirFest Brighton 2008, email info@hullabaloobrighton.org.uk
