Past and Present Association
By Bruce Rawlings

I have certainly enjoyed reading all the "blogs" from Old Boys posted on the previous page and can particularly relate to the interesting snippets on Marshall House and Jack Smithies.  But I note with dismay many names in the "blogs" on this site who are not subscribing members of the Past & Present Association and I would like to urge them to join. I would also encourage those of you who are already members to "spread the word".

Membership
I am currently the Membership Secretary of the Past & Present Association, which succeeded the Old Boys' Association (OBA) when the school changed to BHASVIC.  The Association has nearly 400 members, mostly old boys from the school but also a few past students from BHASVIC. Certainly all are welcome and it is a good way to keep in touch with your peers.

Annual Reunion Lunch
There is a Reunion Lunch every year, held in the School/College Hall and this year's event was attended by more than 100 old boys/past students and their guests. The guest speaker was Rear Admiral John Lippiett CB MBE (1960-67), Chief Executive of the Mary Rose Trust, who gave us some interesting snippets of his time at the School and of the work of the Trust.

The annual membership subscription is currently £5, and for this members receive news of the Association and their own copy of 'Past & Present' magazine, published November/December each year.

2009: 150th anniversary
Next year (2009) will mark the 150th anniversary of the foundation of the School/College and special events are being planned to celebrate this important date. It would be great if our membership numbers were to increase accordingly!

Please join us!
Should you like to know more about the Association or wish to join, please write to me, the Membership Secretary, at 35 Half Moon Lane, Worthing, BN13 2EN or contact me by email at "rawlings@mistral.co.uk" or telephone: 01903 264150.   Or go to our page on the BHASVIC website.
