Here are some photos of what is left of Magnus Volk's Seashore Electric Tramroad along which travelled the 'Daddy Long Legs' (Pioneer).

The shots were taken at the beach in Rottingdean at low tide May 2009. I have seen so many photos of the Pioneer, but it was amazing to walk amongst the remains which have survived for over 100 years and probably will remain for hundreds of years to come.

Bernard Volk commented on this site that he hopes to rebuild the Pioneer. I wonder how he is getting on with that idea? Wouldn't it be fantastic to see it for real?
