Woodingdean Primary School

School sports teams circa early 1950s
By Christopher Wrapson

All these happy boys and girls had been chosen to represent their school and were proudly wearing the blue and white No. 26 top, denoting Woodingdean Primary School

In those days the Brighton inter-schools sports day was held at the Preston Park Cycle Stadium and would be eagerly contested. The second photo shows the team possibly one or two years later?

We all would have been medal winners, as Pop Hemsley our games master looks very proud.

The second photo shown is the team one or two years earlier not later. "Now we need lots of names".
