A parent's view

“BECCA is the Bevendean Children’s Centre and has been running for over 25 years in the purpose-built hall at 58 Heath Hill Avenue, Bevendean. The centre provides excellent pre-school care every weekday morning and was recently highly recommended in its Ofsted inspection.

“Youth clubs for children of various ages are run on different evenings during the week, as is a club for the over 50s. These clubs include residential trips and days out, which are always well attended and excellent fun.

“Bevendean has very little, if no, entertainment for older children. As a parent of two boys, I have made full use of the centre and its facilities, which without the dedication of a core of volunteers would not exist.”

  • I think all the pictures are good because they show the past. Could you put some more pictures in so I could write something else? Thank you and I will be coming to Becca on Friday.

  • I was brought up in Bevendean. I lived there from 1950-1966. The site where the Becca is now was a farm. I can remember seeing the farmer and his wife who lived there. After that I remember going to Sunday school there. It would be nice if there were any photos around to see.

  • Bevendean is a lovely place to live. It has had its ups and downs but doesn’t any place have that? Most of my family live up there and they love it. Yes, we know there isn’t much up there for the teenagers, but if you organised little things in the evening such as games or something for us to, this would bring the community of Bevendean back together. The place where everyone gets on and has a laugh. One thing for sure I can say about Bevendean is that I have never seen any viloence up there at all.

I support Bevendean all the way, love everyone up there x x x
