Letters from Hilda Gladys Holden to her husband
From: Letter in the Attic87 letters written by HGH to EWH whilst the latter was travelling to, and stationed in, India at the end of the Second World War.
The letters are all numbered consecutively and have been kept inside the cover of what is presumably an Army-produced pamphlet entitled ‘Periodical Notes on the Japanese Army No.1’ which also states ‘This document must not fall into enemy hands’.
The letters discuss day-to-day life for Hilda and her daughter in Hove and Brighton, meetings with family and friends, short trips taken in England and VE and VJ day celebrations. Hilda also responds to Eric’s letters.
Also included is a copy of a wedding anniversary telegram
