The lugs have small hole through them. A note with the item states that it was used with a palm (sic) when binding cocoa fibre mats. The brass disc is concave and the concave surface is indented with circular impressions about three ... A tag made with a steel 'D' ring and two pieces of stitched/embroidered hessian or cocoa matting LIA/24/6/2The tag is in the form of two truncated pyramids made from hessian type material and embroidered with the details of two periods of imprisonment. One in Wormwood Scrubs (Jan 29th to April 26th) no date is given but the letter held as LIA/24/4/1 suggests this is probably 1917. Cell and wing number is also ... Two sample pieces of material thought to be examples of doormats made in prison LIA/24/6/3One piece is 140mm x 70mm and coloured maroon with a legend embrodered on it. The legend reads 'Dutch Carpet B 3/19. Underneath this line it reads 'SCM Maidstone' and then a date 'October 1917 January 1918' The other piece appears to be a plain piece of coarsely woven hessian about the same size as the ... It is made from very thin tinplate (about 24SWG) and has a label attached explaining that it was issued to cut up the 'stewed soles' or tough meat given to the prisoners.
