Our photograph here shows the Mayor of Brighton and Hove, Councillor Geoffrey Wells, laying a wreath as part of the ceremonies in Dieppe, which were conducted to mark the 68th anniversary of the bloody World War Two raid on Dieppe, France.
A monument was erected on the city’s riverfront Dieppe Park to honour those who fought in the ill-fated battle in which more than 2,800 Canadians were either killed or captured.
