Rottingdean Smugglers Night
A night to remember
The Rottingdean Smugglers Night was held on Saturday December 6th. This event is always a night to remember but this year it was even more spectacular and eye-catching.
The Buccaneer March of groups and individuals in an array of wonderful costumes moved from the Lower High Street to the War Memorial for a tribute to mark the centenary of WWI. The French Raiders March then entertained the crowds from the Plough Inn to the beach where there was a wonderful display of fireworks.
This year there was an amazing number of things for visitors to see and do, including a Frozen Grotto, a fairground organ, Christmas Food and Craft Market and even a Christmas Tree Festival in St Margaret’s Church. The street collection monies this year were donated to The Fire Brigade Union.
