Brighton and Hove in the time of coronavirus

My Brighton and Hove has been running for 20 years. That makes it a granddaddy in terms of the internet. Facebook was launched four years later.

Over that time, we have collected 6,000 pages, 16,000 photos, 25,000 messages and 40,000 comments. Most of them were created by you, our website visitors.

What are we looking for?

We now want to collect some content about Brighton and Hove in the time of coronavirus. We’re interested in photos, memories, history notes, and links. Ideally, we want material that has some kind of a local angle, that says something about the place we live in.

  • Perhaps you have taken a photo of deserted streets, or written about places or paths you have never noticed before?
  • Perhaps our historians can tell us about other epidemics and periods of isolation in the city?
  • We are also interested in hearing about links to existing social media content that we might collect and preserve.
