These photographs were taken c1948 at Portslade County School.

Allen, may I ask how old you were when the photos were taken? Is that Mr Jones top right and Mr Baker bottom right? Who is other teacher?
The teacher in the top picture is Mr Jones and I think the other teacher is Mr Davis the woodwork teacher, the goalie is Len Green. In the cricket picture top row second from the right that is Ernie Woolgar and in the bottom row second from the left it is Ray Virgo a great footballer who had trials for Chelsea but got chucked out for smoking. He went on to play for Shoreham. Hello Den – I will reply to you on the other page. I moved to the south of France some years ago and I live just outside Bordeaux but I return to the UK five or six times a year.
Middle picture, bottom row, 2nd boy in is Alan Cherriman.
Great pictures especially of Ray that bring back many memories.regards to all who took part and would be grateful to see more pictures of him from Linda Kinsman (Virgo) His sister.
