St. Marks School, Arundel Road

St Mark's School

I went from 1970 – 1976, some of the most fond memories I have at school were in those years. First teacher, Miss Cross, then Miss Hill, reading at the end of the day, all crossed legged in a circle in the little garden!, the Lion, the Witch & the Wardrobe I remember! – hours of fun over East Brighton Park in the HOT summer of ’76, playing rounders with Miss Dyer; I could go on for ever! I was in class with Gina Moorehouse, Sue Ripley, Michelle Eason., etc; I have lived in Italy for over 30 years.

  • What a great photo. I was at St Marks from 1960 until 1962 when we moved to North Woodingdean from Reading Road not far from East Brighton Park. Used to go there a lot with my Grandad I remember Miss Cross 🙂 Missed St Marks and the whole area very much when we moved away. My best friends were Susan Bundy, Anne and Rosemary Taylor and Theresa Green. Didn’t know until recently that our lovely school is no longer there !
