  • There’s a bit about Hanover Terrace School in a book called “Hilly Laine to Hanover” but unfortunately no photo.

  • Wendy, I have photos I took of the school in the 1980’s (I attended the school in the 1950’s). If you want copies let me know your e-mail address.

  • I went to the school between 1955 and 1960 when it was the Brighton Technical School. Does anybody have any pictures of it during that period, and the ‘stained glass’ in the art room?

  • I remember the fete in the summer at the old school. I lived at no 37 (Hall family) used to climb over the school gates at night and be chased by the old caretaker!

  • Went to the BSTS during the early 60s. The caretaker was a chap named Bailey who lived in Coleman Street. When he went to the boiler room in the playground, if you can call it that, during break or lunchtime we would sing ‘Won’t you come home Bill Bailey’ and he used to mouth ‘bugger off’.

  • I attended B.S.B.E. in the 1940/50 and help to make the stained glass window of the Royal Pavilion the art master was Eric Mckinley known at school as Erik Kinley. He won a prize for designing the fake money for the show “Zip goes a million” Somewhere I have a picture of the window and of course I wonder what happened to the window
Fellow pupils I recall were:-Stuart King, Bill Harvey, Mark Dudney, Brain Moser, Colin Thomas.
