Windmill Street party: Riley Hall in Carlton Hill

This photo was taken at the Riley Hall in Carlton Hill. It was a party for Windmill Street residents. I have no idea what for, it was probably around 1950/52 as I look about 6/8 years old.

I am standing on the far left with long hair and a cardigan, holding a little boy’s hand. I lived in Tarner Road and as far as I can remember from what was said, I was invited because at the time my Dad owned a huge Union Jack flag/flags and which he loaned to them for the tables.

Do you recognise yourself or anyone else here? Do you remember the party? Can you share your memories of this event? If you can help, please leave a comment below.

  • I am the girl dressed as a fairy, standing next to you. I was then Annette Pike and I lived in Windmill Street.
