I have a birth certificate for my aunt showing she was born at 250 Elm Grove Brighton in 1907 the informant of the birth is given as Valentine Burden occupier of 250 Elm Grove although I know this was not her mothers adddress she was just born there. Is this the old General Hospital/Infirmary/workhouse? Or somewhere unmarried women went to have babies? Please contact me on Charallais@aol.com
