A question about a Chinese Restaurant in West Street

by Martin Tidy 19 May 2020 8:01 AM

In the sixties, there was one of the first Chinese restaurants about halfway down West Street on the right hand side. It was down a flight of stairs below street level, if my memory is right. Our first visit was very memorable.  There was a lot of glass doors etc and subtle lighting. The tables were long and seated many people. The tables were covered in starched white table cloths with lights just above, shining down onto the all important food . Between each course a waiter would magically appear from somewhere and remove the table cloth revealing another crisp white cloth underneath . I was very impressed at the time.

Can anyone remember the name of this Restaurant, because it escapes me at the moment?
