A number of years ago,on a visit to Brighton, I met a group of Civil War buffs searching for the grave of Colonel Fremantle near the old crematorium in the Hartington road cemetery.
Col Fremantle was an observer with the confederate army at Gettysburg. He died in 1901 and the funeral service was held in Brighton although he was from the Isle of Wight.
I never heard if the gravesite was discovered. Does anybody have any ideas?
Thank you for any answers.
