I am writing a biography of Edwardian (1903-1909) Brighton resident Colonel George Gouraud. Newspaper reports of his move-in to 109 Marine Parade in November 1903 note that the house was ‘one of the oldest in Brighton'(18th century) and ‘well-known to older Brightonians as ‘The Snake House”.
I feel that with this degree of local affection there must somewhere be a print or preferably a photograph of the building. Does anyone know of one please that I could use in my not-for-profit book?
