My parents first met at a New Year party in January 1940. It was held in “Beaconsfield”, the home of Dr Cummin(?), in Furze Hill.
I believe that the block of flats called “Aylesbury” now stands on the site, which is near the top of Furze Hill on the north side.
Can anyone confirm this please, or correct me if I am wrong?
