Brighton Belle to be ready for service for the Olympics
A historic rail service which was once the height of luxury transport is to be restored in time for the London Olympics.

The 5BEL Trust plans to have the Brighton Belle up and running in time to take parties of sportsmen and fans to the 2012 event.

The Brighton Belle started running in 1933 for Southern Railway and was the only all-electric Pullman multiple unit train in the world.

With its chocolate and cream appearance and fantastic interior of brass fittings, handmade lampshades and armchairs it was a classic way to travel between Brighton and London.

The last time Brighton passengers boarded the Belle was April 30 1972 before the service was cancelled.
