Hi, I have looked at the Brighton Bombing Map and see that a bomb fell on the corner of Roman Road and New Church Road where Mornington Mansions now stand. My husband ownes No. 51 Roman Road and we are wondering if anyone knows anything about the bomb in question. No. 51 still shows quite significant bomb blast damange i.e. bowed window, crooked door frames, brickwork has some odd bricks and pointing which does not the original and a chimney which had cracked so badly that it had come away from the roof and had to be demolished.
Any info on this Roman Road/New Church Road bomb greating appreciated.
