I well remember the coach shows along Madeira Drive in the 1950s. My dad was a coach painter at Harringtons coach works, and he would work very late into the night to get a coach ready for the show. If one of his coaches won we were always very proud! One year he had worked on a coach for ‘Black and Whites of Scotland’ They won the show and the owner was so pleased he gave my Dad a £10 tip as a thank you for the work he had put into the paint work! It was a great start to our summer holiday that year!!.
By the way, the mystery trips also went to Bodiam Castle!
