I’m looking for anyone who can shed some light on the Colabeen (and other various spellings) family in Brighton and the surrounding areas. I have a Charles Colabeen and an Arthur Colabeen in my family tree that I can’t trace from 1891 onwards. What with them being male, you would think the name would exist somewhere…. I have traced them on census’ as far as possible, Arthur may have become an ‘Earl’ (that was his stepfathers name) but am now totally stuck.
Does the name COLABEEN (Collabeen/Colabean/Collobean/Collobeen) mean anything to anyone?!?!
