Does anyone remember the 1940/50s character in a peaked cap who used to place decorated walking sticks in a pattern on the ground near the top of Brighton beach and dance around on them singing away at the same time? It was suggested that there was some sadness attached to all this in that he was an ex-jockey who had sustained an injury which caused his odd behaviour. Does anyone know?
