dog tray by jane 7 May 2007i have read that the pub was built in the 1930s.at the bottom of edward street.what was there before .2 replies Re: dog tray by Andy Grant 7 May 2007Jane, In 1933 plans were submitted for the rebuilding of the Dog Tray public house as a result of the proposed road widening scheme in Edward Street. It was rebuilt on almost the same location as the previous iterations of the pub called the Dog Tray, which had been in existence since around 1850. If you do a search of the website and message board you will find a considerable amount has been written about this pub.
