Early 1950's shipwreck.

by Chris McBrien 22 October 2009

I remember a stormy night in the early 1950’s when a wooden hulled boat foundered on the beach east of The King Alfred building. We saw the distress rockets from Portslade. There was a teenaged boy onboard who was put up as a Hero as he went back to save his pet Cat. I think the crew was only two or three and there were no fatalities.

Does that ring any bells?
