My grandfarther was ,william john grieve.i was told he was from a fishing family in gt yarmouth or Lowestoft..my surname is Grieve.(garfield).i live in Blackburn lancasihre,age 58.I have been to lowestoft also,to trace ancestors.were i found a james grieve,cooper and fisherman.a garfield grieve.and a garfield cafe,used to be.all decesed.does anyone know anything as to were i am from.???.confused…ps my granfarthers son was called garfield,killed in 2nd world war.so must be a family name.
